This project is located in the picturesque town of Kandern, nestled in the heart of the border triangle of Baden-Württemberg, Switzerland, and France. The house, originally designed with a limited floor plan, presented an exciting challenge for our team to expand and transform into a beautiful living space. After evaluating the site and collaborating with the clients, we decided to extend the house with a stunning terrace that would blend seamlessly with the hillside location. The terrace now floats down into the valley, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
In addition to the terrace extension, we also added some eye-catching design elements to the street-facing façade. We chose a beautiful coloured wooden cladding that accentuates the new piece and creates a striking contrast with the existing structure
To further enhance the living space, we transformed the kitchen and living floor into a bright, light-filled area by removing a few load-bearing walls. This not only increased the amount of natural light in the space but also improved the overall functionality of the area. The resulting open and airy floor plan perfectly complements the creative work of the residents and provides an attractive living space that invites relaxation and contemplation.
Overall, the project was a great success, and we are proud to have played a role in creating a beautiful and functional living space for our clients that perfectly blends with the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
